It’s scary enough to start a food truck. Then to move that truck’s business into a restaurant? Definitely a big step. Lil Cheezer’s did it and decided it was not for them.
Pushing aside the fear, Liz and Jess Huot of Grind are taking that plunge today as they open Grind Burger Kitchen today at 3311 Preston Highway (across from the fairgrounds). They will be serving lunch from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.
They expect to only be open for lunch until they get the hang of things, then will likely add dinner later.
On another important note: what goes with burgers? Fries. Grind has never had fries. They will have fryers in the brick and mortar location and will be serving fries.
Fear not, Grind is not giving up their food truck. It will still be the well-run operation that it was before the opening of the restaurant.

This article was updated on 6/9/14. A previous version of the article mentioned that Grind has curry ketchup. It is in fact smoked ketchup. Also food trucks are allowed to have fryers. Grind chose not to have them.
