The Core Four of The Grateful Dead may have played their last shows together last month in Chicago, but the Louisville Deadhead community will get their chance to enjoy the favorite band Saturday as a handful of Louisville bands will carry on with the legendary jam band’s music.
The inaugural GrateVille Dead tribute show will take place Saturday at the Brown-Foreman Amphitheater at Waterfront Park. Tickets are $12 for adults and children 10 and under get in free.
The music lineup and schedule is as follows:
3:00—Hot Iron Skillet
4:30—Merry Pranksters
6:00—Dead Set One w/ Phiasco
7:30—Dead Set Two w/ Slow Down Johnny and special guests
9:00—Tribute to Jerry and The Grateful Dead featuring The Rumpke Mountain Boys
The Grateful Dead themselves actually played in Louisville including performances at Freedom Hall and Bellarmine College.
The event is family friendly and food, water, and beer will be available to purchase.
