The Bucket List, the movie with Jack Nicholson is playing ad nauseam on HBO this month. The movie wasn't all that compelling, but it did start me to thinking what I might do in that position. Then I read an article on PGA.com about the golfers Bucket List. I guess we (golfers) probably have one of those, informal as a list in our heads if not actually written down somewhere. It was easy to compile a list once I sat and thought about it for a few seconds.
Our lists, according to PGA.com fall into the categories of performance, places we'd like to play, people we'd like to play with and golf experiences we'd like to have. My personal list breaks down like this:
Performance:
Shoot even par
Make a hole-in-one
Make more pars than bogeys in a round
Experience:
Chear for the American team in person during the Ryder Cup played in Europe
Attend the Pebble Beach Pro-Am
Courses:
Play Valhalla (I'm open to any invitation)
Play Augusta National
Play St. Andrews
People:
A round with Fuzzy Zoeller (he is a hoot to watch. He would be a trip to play with)
A round with Bill Clinton (and after we can head down to PT's for a few beers)
A round with my wife (she's my best friend but thinks the game is stupid)
Give it a whirl. Jot a few things down on your "bucket list".
