If you want to get out and support Women’s Heart and Black History month you should attend this function. It is located at Kentucky Center for African American Heritage (1701 W. Muhammad Ali Blvd. Louisville, KY 40203). The date to attend is February 2nd from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. The best thing about this function is that you get to meet with the heart experts of Norton Healthcare. There will also be a lot of other things that will be going on as well to give each of us the opportunity to be healthy.

The Happy hour will have healthy soul food appetizers, so you can eat great tasting food with healthy benefits. There is also going to be cooking demonstrations so that you’ll see firsthand how to make these healthy dishes. This not only helps people with a chance of getting cardiovascular disease, but also helps people who are looking to live a better lifestyle. The experts will be there to talk to everyone and it will allow everyone to be more aware of the risks each of us have at getting a disease like this. We will each come away knowing more about the disease and ways to prevent ourselves and our families from getting this disease.

Everyone is at risk for cardiovascular disease even those who do not have it in their family history. African American women have been known to be at greater risk though. This function will help everyone though; we can all be a part of fighting off this disease if we each make healthy lifestyle choices. In this I mean making the effort to eat healthy foods and take care of our bodies. This function will help give everyone the opportunity to learn how to help ourselves.
