Next Wednesday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., Louisville Magazine will host their monthly launch party at Captains Quarters Riverside Grill, located in Prospect, Ky.  at 5700 Captains Quarters Road. The party, co-hosted with the Kentucky Derby Festival and sponsored by French Lick Resort, will be held in honor of the “Derby 139” issue, which also includes the complete list of this year’s Top Lawyers as voted upon by their peers.

The first 50 guests will receive a complementary gift courtesy of Four Roses Bourbon, who will also have specialty drinks made with their brand of bourbon alongside the free appetizers provided by the restaurant at the party. All guests will have an opportunity to enter their names for giveaways, including a one-year subscription to Louisville Magazine, and prizes from French Lick and the Kentucky Derby Festival. Entertainment will be provided by “American Idol: Season 10” contestant Stefano Langone, as well as Pinot’s Palette, who will be creating a custom “Bourbon and Great Steamboat Race” painting for one lucky winner to take home once the paint dries. Pinot’s Palette is the Official Paint and Sip Partner of the Kentucky Derby Festival. The KDF will also have tickets for their annual festival on sale at the launch party.

If you can’t wait until next Wednesday, however, Louisville Magazine will host a second launch party tomorrow from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. for their March 2013 issue at the Louisville Central Community Centers’ Old Walnut Street development, located at 1300 W. Muhammad Ali Blvd. The special event focuses on the West End, the cover story for the “Top Lawyers 2013” issue of the publication, where many of the subjects interviewed in the issue as well as civic leaders from the nine neighborhoods that make up the oft-ignored section of our city will be invited to meet with the magazine’s readership. Jafri’s Catering will provide complementary appetizers, and a cash bar will be available, too.

For more information on either event, please contact amccarty@loumag.com or call 502-625-0100 ext. 21 for the April party at Captains Quarters, or editorial@loumag.com or 502-625-0100 ext. 17 for the March relaunch party in the West End. You can also follow Louisville Magazine's Facebook page for updates as they come. Both events are free and open to the public.
