After a water main break on the hottest day of the summer, much  of downtown and surrounding areas are without water or air conditioning.  A good portion of the city is under a boil advisory.

According to the Louisville.gov, the boundary for those who should boil their water is the Ohio River to the north, Watterson Expressway to the south, 9th street to the west and Bardstown-Baxter Avenue to the east. See the image included.  This is the main area under the boil advisory, but all residents who suffered water pressure loss should boil their water. You can do this by bringing your water to a rolling boil for 3 minutes before using for consumption. Ice dispensers should also be emptied. Further updates can be seen at the Louisville Water Company web site

The Louisville Water Company is providing their customers in the boil water advisory zone free bottled water. Customers can pick up the water at Papa John's Cardinal Stadium near Floyd Street and Central Avenue.

Employees will distribute the water to those that pull in. Customers will receive 12 bottles of water. This giveaway starts at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday and goes until the supply ends.
