Kentucky Shakespeare Festival has scheduled its 7th annual British Pub Night on Friday, September 12 at Mellwood Arts Center at 7:00 PM. This year’s event will have added importance as it is the community’s final opportunity to gather together and say goodbye and thank you to Curt Tofteland for 20 years of outstanding service as Producing Artistic Director of Kentucky Shakespeare Festival.
This evening of pub food, ales, Shakespeare performances, and live British Invasion music benefits Shakespeare in Central Park, produced by Kentucky Shakespeare Festival, the country’s oldest professional independently operated theater company offering free Shakespeare in Old Louisville’s Central Park. British Pub Night tickets are $75 each, which includes dinner, libations, and more ($35 of the British Pub Night ticket is tax-deductible). A highlight of the event is the raffle drawing for a 2008 SmartCar sponsored by Sam Swope or a $10,000 cash alternative. Buy two tickets and receive a $50 gift certificate to a KY or Southern IN Bed & Breakfast. Only 1000 tickets are available. Raffle tickets are $50 each.
Invoking the casual atmosphere of a pub, British Pub Night features pub food catered by O’Shea’s, beer and ales provided by Bluegrass Brewing Company, and British Invasion music by The Merry Pranksters. To make your reservation, contact Kentucky Shakespeare Festival at (502) 637-4933 or info@kyshakes.org.
