Let’s puff out our chests a little bit today and accept praise from the October issue of Bon Appetit magazine. In that issue the magazine names Louisville the fourth best foodie small town in America. It references our proximity to Bourbon country, our deep love of pork, hot browns and a growing pool of talented chefs as reasons why Louisville is a food lovers oasis. I certainly cannot disagree.
I would add to that list though being surrounded by amazing farms and farmers as well as being home to an ever growing population of food lovers that appreciate good, local food. Oh, oh, oh, I’d also add to the list a vibrant independent restaurant community, incredible ethnic restaurants and a new crop of bakeries and cupcake providers.
In case you’re curious Durham- Chapel Hill was the winning foodiest small town in America.
