    This is the story of Ti Moune, a peasant girl who rescues and falls in love with Daniel, a young man from a wealthy family.  When Daniel is returned to his people, the gods who rule the island guide Ti Moune on a quest to test the strength of her love against the powerful forces of prejudice, hatred and death.  With its touching story and catchy pop and Caribbean flavored score by songwritiers of the film Anastasia and the Broadway hits Ragtime and Suessical, Once On This Island Jr. is a multicultural feast for the heart, mind, and soul.   This popular island tale is said to have been the basis behind the development of The Little Mermaid which also is cast in like story and themes.


       The show runs one hour and following the show there will be a refreshment meet and greet with cast members in the outer lobby and children will be permitted to go on stage and have pictures taken with Ti Moune and the island gods.


       The show will be presented Thursday through Saturday, March 13, 14, 15 at 7:30 p.m. and on Sunday, March 16th at 2 p.m.  While seating is general, those who call in and reserve their tickets in advance will be given preferred center seating.  General seating may simply be purchased at the door on the day of the show.  Tickets are $10 for adults and $6 for children and students.  Preferred seating may be obtained by placing early ticket orders at the 24-hour box office line at 923-8811, extension 3527. 


       A special $1.00 off ticket price is also available through sponsor, Beef O’Brady’s, Floyds Knobs, for opening night, March 13th.  All customers eating at that location on that day may present their receipt at the door for the discount and in addition, 10% of all sales at the restaurant that day will be donated to the theatre department.
