Fleetwood Mac has announced plans for a 2013 tour that includes a stop at the KFC Yum! Center.
The Louisville show is set for April 11th.
Fleetwood Mac, one of the most successful bands in rock history, says this tour will include stops in 34 cities. The group last toured in 2009.
The current Fleetwood Mac lineup includes Mick Fleetwood, John McVie, Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks.
Drummer and co-founder Mick Fleetwood says, “Having started Fleetwood Mac with John McVie in 1967, it has always been so gratifying that despite the various incarnations, the band has survived. Throughout the years, though, the one thing that has remained constant is our fans. I am looking forward to getting back behind the kit, reconnecting with the fans and sharing the stage with my fellow band members.”
Stevie Nicks notes, “After spending four days at Lindsey’s house working on music and one really fun day doing a crazy photo session, I am quite excited about next year. Everything seems to be falling into place. 2013 looks like the ‘year of Fleetwood Mac.
The 2013 tour marks the 35th anniversary of the release if their 1977 classic Rumours album, one of the most successful albums in rock history. Plans are in the works to release a new deluxe reissue of Rumours with previously unreleased studio and live tracks early next year. Look for more details to be announced later.
Many Fleetwood Mac fans may have caught Lindsey Buckingham’s sold out solo show at Headliners Music Hall last month. As for his comments on the upcoming group tour, he says he’s really looking forward to hitting the road, adding, “Long live Fleetwood Mac!”
