On Wednesday May 29th, Volare hosted a ladies night to benefit the Shamrock Foundation. The Shamrock Foundation is a local non-profit devoted to educating the public on animal companionship, facilitating adoption, and providing spay/neuter services. Proceeds from all sales went to benefit this worthy cause. Folks enjoyed music by the Robbie Bartlett Trio while sipping on craft cocktails and enjoying delicious Italian cuisine.
I walked in around 7 o'clock and was happy to see a healthy amount of animal enthusiast dining and drinking. I ordered a sazerac and sat down with a few friends. One of my friends ordered a few sliders off the bar menu. At $4 and $5 a pop, these were a pretty good deal. Each came with a small side. One was an arugula salad, another a healthy serving of crispy french fries. While these items weren't up to the level of quality you see in Volare's regular menu, they weren't a bad nibble. The beef slider was slightly overdone but otherwise, satisfying and a good accompaniment to the booze.
The added plus of this event was walking outside to a garden of adorable puppies looking for a home. I've included the photos in case any of you are in the market for a furry friend. These were sweet, well behaved, adorable dogs. You might think you are doing a service by adopting, but it will be you who benefits from the new company.
