    Bit to Do

Fathom Events presents A Night With Nicholas Sparks' 'Safe Haven'
    Print this page

I want you to look at the above movie poster. It's the one that says Safe Haven

. Ignore the title of this article for a moment, and guess on whose book this film is based. Here's a hint. Look at the poster for

The Lucky One. The Last Song. Nights in Rodanthe. The Notebook

. Not a lot of imagination here. It gets switched up, though! Check out

    Dear John

    ! Or

    Message in a Bottle

    . Or

    A Walk to Remember

. More patterns. And that's it, folks. That is every movie adapted from novels by schmaltzy romancer Nicholas Sparks. If you keep watching them, they'll keep making them.

Of course, you may keep watching them because you like them and aren't tired of them for some reason, and if that's you, then read on! Tomorrow, Thursday, Fathom Events prevents a very special one-night only live broadcast of a behind-the-scenes special and Q&A with the cast and filmmakers of the upcoming

    Safe Haven

. The film stars Josh Duhamel and Julianne Hough and is directed by Lasse Hallström, all of whom will be in attendance, as well as Mr. Sparks himself. The broadcast will also include the aforementioned exclusive behind-the-scenes footage and a sneak peek.

    Safe Haven

tells the story of a Katie (Hough), a young woman on the run from something. She settles down in a small town and falls in love with the charming widower Alex (Duhamel). Of course, the past always catches up to you, and her new-found life may not be the “safe haven” she thought it was (see what I did there?).

It all starts at 8:00 at three theaters locally: Tinseltown (4400 Towne Center Drive), Stonybrook (2745 S. Hurstbourne Pkwy), and Stadium 16 (300 Professional Court, New Albany). Complete information can be found at the Fathom Events website.

    About Allan Day

There are legitimate theories that the Big Bang originated from the collapse of a black hole in a fourth-dimensional universe. This stuff fascinates me, and I love reading about it. I love reading about science. And about anything, for that matter, provided it's interesting - and everything is potentially interesting, so I'm fascinated by a lot of things. I also read a lot of fiction (Kurt Vonnegut deserves deification) and watch a lot of movies (Charlie Chaplin also deserves deification). I've made a few short films myself. I'm also a writer of everything - I'm close to a Bachelor's in English at IUS. My life consists of reading, writing, bartending, and taking care of my daughter full-time. Life is busy and life is stressful, but that's why there's music and art and other forms of relaxation.
