There are a myriad of amazing, incredible, fantastic restaurants in Louisville. You can’t visit all of them, but here are ten you should certainly try to hit for dinner, if you can get a reservation, which, let’s be honest, might be hard at this point. Photos are credited in the headings, which is also where you can find information about hours, prices, reservations, and days open. Keep in mind, this is in no way a comprehensive list, just a few of my favorites.

    1. The Brown Hotel

Home of the Hot Brown, which you basically have to eat while you’re in Louisville.

    2. The Village Anchor

Everything at this beautiful, swanky restaurant is great,  but particularly good is their giant, poufy, meringue-swathed banana pudding.

    3. Jack Fry’s

Good luck getting a reservation, though. Maybe you’ll get lucky? A Louisville classic.

    4. Four Pegs Beer Lounge

Much more casual, this craft-beer serving Germantown establishment has a chicken and waffle sandwich that will knock your socks off, and a great burger or two, including what some call the best veggie burger in town. Bar food at its best.

    5. The Silver Dollar

The whiskey cocktails at Silver Dollar are good, and the food is Southwest-inspired upscale cowboy grub, basically.

    6. The Monkey Wrench

They have two menus, one for downstairs (Contemporary Hillbilly) and one for upstairs (Vietnamese-Spanish-Cuban-Whatever-It’s-Delicious) and everything I’ve ever eaten there has been amazing.

    7. Proof on Main

Again, might be hard to get a reservation at this one (or impossible) but if you get a chance, visit this hotel-bar-art museum-restaurant.

    8. Harvest

Farm-to-table at its best in Louisville, in the ultra trendy NuLu district.

    9. Hammerheads

Arrive at 4 p.m. to get in line for their 5 p.m. opening. Order all the incredible smoked meat your little heart desires, but don’t expect special treatment from the kitchen.

    10. Feast BBQ

Right over the river in New Albany, they have bourbon slushies and fabulous barbecue. Need I say more?

Outraged that I missed your favorite? Leave it in the comments!
