When I stepped into Elizabeth's Timeless Attire, the featured stop on last Friday's F.A.T. Trolley Hop, I felt like I'd taken a step back in time -- a good step back. The atmosphere was whimsical, filled with a sense of nostalgia. Beautifully selected dresses, hats, jewelry, filled the store, setting the stage for a delightful shopping experience.
The two woman staff, Elizabeth being one of them, was chatty and exuberant, engaging in conversation with patrons, many of whom seemed to be regulars.
Amy Gall, an Elizabeth's frequenter, couldn't pass up a beautiful buttercup yellow gown. It looked absolutely amazing on her. I actually spotted Gall as I was pulling up on Frankfort Avenue. She was wearing a perfectly put together vintage-inspired look, and I guessed that she was going to Elizabeth's. Upon my arrival, she was perusing the racks.
Though Elizabeth's specialty is vintage, her yearly trips to Paris have inspired a new section in her store. Since 2009, she has returned from the French city with a collection of jewelry by Marion Godart. Unique, fun and a little funky, the pieces don't suit everyone's tastes, but a select Louisville audience has grown to love them.
Elizabeth's showcased all the greatness the F.A.T Trolley Hop seeks to expose. One of a kind vintage fashions paired with the genuine hospitality of the, Elizabeth's is a true Louisville original. I even left with a vintage dress of my own, that little pink number at the top. Couldn't help myself.
