Last weekend I got an incredible bargain at Dish on Market. You can't get this kind of price at a fast food restaurant, and you certainly can't get Bourbon. For ten dollars—ten measly dollars—I got a HUGE honey Bourbon barbecue burger with cheese and bacon and a side salad, PLUS a glass of Bourbon on the rocks. Dish has a great selection of giant, succulent hamburgers and a long list of Bourbon and Bourbon cocktails. A dinner downtown for ten dollars that leaves you satisfied and buzzed? Sign me up.

One of my dearest friends was my dining partner for the night, and she is endlessly picky about her food. More often than not I drag her to some upscale or crazy eatery and she ends up miserably eating a limp Caesar salad and glaring at me across the table. Not so at Dish, even my picky friend was perfectly satisfied with every part of our meal. She cheerfully tried sausage gravy and fried chicken with macaroni and cheese and large amounts of diet coke. The service was STELLAR. They cooked my burger as rare as I wanted it, dressed it without a bun, and served me a healthy glass of Bourbon. Our waitress, a soft spoken young woman with a head of dreadlocks, was extremely helpful—though she was a vegan, she catered to my carnivorous ways gracefully.

The versatility and affordable nature of the far at Dish on Market should be enough to tempt diners. Dish is open seven days a week for breakfast, lunch and happy hour. The location and the atmosphere seems much swankier than the prices, and savory, thick meat and freaking fantastic Bourbon, a multitude of desserts and comfort food—this might be my new favorite place.
