The “Happy Everything” plate by Coton Colors has the holidays covered, and may be the only serving dish you will need for all your celebrations. The 16?-inch-in-diameter ceramic plate comes with a removable birthday hat attachment, with other attachments, including the American flag, available. Minnie Missive
Yoke is eastern Kentucky folk artist Minnie Adkins’ tribute to America. The mixed-media carving/sculpture is 23? inches wide and 13? inches tall and can be purchased for $450 at the sales gallery of the Kentucky Museum of Art and Craft, 715 W. Main St. (589-0102, www.kentuckyarts.org), which carries other pieces of her work with a price range of $200-$600.
Party Puff
The wacky-to-sentimental costume and decorations store Caufield’s Novelty, 1006 W. Main St. (583-0636, www.caufields.com), has a large selection of red, white and blue items. Its year-round Flag and Patriotic section has objects that range from 15 cents to $100, including this 12-inch scalloped-edge tissue puffball for $2.49.
Red, White and Bawk, Bawk
Mary Cinnamon, whose business is called Gourds by GertsKid, has been making antiqued painted gourds since 1998. “Old Gloryeea” is 12 inches tall and 30 inches around at its widest. Glow Snakes
“Medusa” is an appropriate style name for this aluminum table lamp by LumiSource, with its three snaking arms and colorful shades. The 24-inch-tall lamp comes with red, yellow and blue interchangeable glass scones for $45; sub in a white (or orange or green) scone for an additional $10. Loaded for Bear
The Walnut Creek Rustic and Lodge Living specialty shop in the Mellwood Arts & Entertainment Center, 1860 Mellwood Ave. (238-7318, www.walnutcreekrusticliving.com) is the exclusive Kentucky retailer of works by Northwest artist Marilynn Dwyer-Mason, whose nostalgic, fanciful outdoor paintings and prints have been described as “magical western realism.” A Spin on the Lake is a limited-edition giclee print on canvas in a handcrafted birch bark and willow frame, selling for $1,500 (the size with frame is 42 by 50 inches).
