Family and Connections: Sire Into Mischief; Dam - Life Happened; trained by Rudy Rodriguez; rider Garrett Gomez; owner Pick Six Racing.

Pros: Comes into Kentucky Derby off a third-place finish in the Grade 1 Wood Memorial behind Verrazano and Normandy Invasion. Prior to this, Vyjack was undefeated in four starts.

Cons: He’ll break from post 20. Big Brown won from post 20 in 2008. Trainer Rudy Rodriguez, when asked about the post position and Vyjack’s ability, said, “That was Big Brown. We’ve got Vyjack.”

Fun Fact: Trainer Rudy Rodriguez worked his way up from hot walker to trainer.

Analysis: If his trainer isn’t confident in horse’s ability from the far outside post, I’m not either!
