Comedy Attack! Is a regular bi-weekly alt-comedy showcase run by Jake Reber and Kent Carney in the back room of Kaiju. It can frantic and frenzied, even a little bit weird – but the rotating line-up and mounting reputation has made it an enticing stage for local comics, but has become a draw for traveling comedians from all over the country. This week the show will feature special sets from Chicago based buzz worthy comedians Alex Kumin and David Losso.
Starting out in Boston Alex Kumin moved to Chicago and has been become a veteran when it comes to performing standup comedy in cities all across the US. She is a cast member of the longest running independent standup comedy showcase in the country, The Lincoln Lodge, as well as a co-producer of Cole's Chicago Cabaret, she is also one of the most talked about and well-respected comedians in the city. She was once referred to in Chicago Magazine as a comedian with “unapologetic honesty" who tackles heavy hitting social issues, ranging from gender equality to thigh chaffing.
Her friend and fellow comedian David Losso is a Chicago native who has also worked his way through industry hierarchy in The Windy City’s comedy scene. He has appeared at various venues and showcases across the Midwest including performing to a sold out crowd at the 2014 Chicago Nerd Comedy Festival. He's the founder/co-producer of the acclaimed Yeah Buddy Awesome Time Comedy Show, and is currently a staff writer for The Whiskey Journal Live at The Lincoln Lodge.
David Losso and Alex Kumin will be performing Sunday September 6th at Kaiju as part of the bi-weekly Comedy Attack! Show. The show is free and begins at 10 PM.
