    Bit to Do

Danzig is playing this evening at Expo Five.  I'm a long time fan, a life long fan, and simply cannot wait until the doors open and we can rush the stage as Danzig and his bandmates go onstage.  I've been listening to this guy since the 80s when not only this band first came about, but shortly after Danzig's departure from his prior band, and punk rock legends, The Misfits.

Glenn Danzig has announced the highly anticipated return of his Blackest of the Black tour.  In its latest reincarnation since 2008, the tour's lineup will feature Danzig, legendary Bay Area hell-thrashers Possessed and Swedish black metal pioneers Marduk, who are making a rare and long awaited US touring appearance.  Toxic Holocaust and Withered will be rounding out the five band bill.  The 19-city tour kicks off on October 25th in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Danzig's Blackest of the Black was founded and masterminded by dark rock icon Glenn Danzig, as an avenue for darker and more extreme bands to reach their countless fans.  The inaugural tour took place in 2003 followed by runs in 2005, 2006, and 2008 with Danzig headlining and dark/extreme metal luminaries such as Dimmu Borgir, Superjoint Ritual, Lacuna Coil, Opeth and Behemoth appearing on Blackest of the Black over the years.  This summer saw the release of Danzig's first new studio album in over six years, Deth Red Sabaoth.  It debuted at #36 on the Billboard Top 200, stayed in the CMJ Loud Rock top 3 for 5 weeks (holding the #1 spot for 3 weeks).

Once again, the show is this evening, Wednesday, November 3rd and doors open at 6 pm.  Tickets are $26 each, and can be not only bought at the door, but also at Ear X Tacy beforehand,, as well as online thru several different vendors. Be sure not to miss this people because I can't remember the last time this band came thru town, and there's no telling when they may make it back thru.

    About Damian Gerlach

Born and raised locally here in the Germantown neighborhood of Louisville, Kentucky. I have lived and frequented in both the Highlands and Germantown areas for the past ten years while completing my undergraduate work in communication, and graduate work in business communication from Spalding University. After the completion of both of these degrees, the most recent during the summer of 2007, I began working as a sales consultant for a large telecommunications company, as well as for a few local colleges. In 2008 I self-published my first book, "Always Coming Back," and my second late summer 2009, entitled "Bent."
