    Bit to Do

The Dane Cook LIVE! Tour stops in Louisville on November 13, 2010. He will be performing at the KFC YUM! Center arena at 8 pm in support of his most recent CD release, I did my best. This greatest hits album has some of his biggest bits and some previously unreleased material.

Cook has been called a phenomenon and has an impressive list of titles and awards under his belt including being on Time Magazine’s list of 100 most influential people.  In addition to being a comedian and winning Comedy Central’s Stand-Up Showdown more than any other comedian, Cook has been enjoying a successful acting career. He has starred in My Best Friends Girl, Dan in Real Life, Good Luck Chuck, Mr. Brooks , and Employee of the Month.  He recently also began to cross over into the music industry with a couple of rock singles. He performed one of them on this year’s season finale of American Idol.

Cook’s popularity is apparent online. He receives over 500,000 hits per month on his website; his MySpace page has 2,500,000 friends; and his Facebook and Twitter have surpassed 4 million followers. Despite his popularity, he is still considered controversial and also has people who strongly dislike his comedy.

He responded to that dilemma in a phone interview, “I think in this day and age, we seem to see it with people like myself more because it's all on the bathroom wall, so to speak, of Google searches and whatnot.  But it's always been there.  It's always going to be there. There's always going to be the people that embrace you and fill an arena, and then there's going to be people outside throwing an egg at it.”

Cook certainly doesn’t seem to be letting anything or anyone get in his way.  If you want to see Cook in Louisville, tickets range from $36.75 to $72.75 and can be purchased from the YUM! Center web site or Ticketmaster.
