Crane House New Year After Party
    Print this page

To celebrate this year's Lunar New Year, which officially rang in on Thursday, February 19, Louisville's Crane House hosted their annual fundraising dinner, with the Young Professionals group hosting a killer after party, both at the Gillespie. The New Year Dinner, Crane House's biggest fundraising event of the year, largely funds Crane House's main mission to share and spread education of Asian culture. The Young Professionals are a newly formed group in the Crane House, catering to a younger group of people who work together in both business and cultural experience.

The dinner included a silent auction, while the after party brought in gambling tables (the only event in Louisville that allows legal gambling), snacks from Joy Luck, henna tattoos, a DJ and performances from the Louisville Lion Dance Team, as well as a K-Pop group and a group of traditional Indian dancers. As guests milled around the upper balcony of the Gillespie, drifting between blackjack tables and browsing the silent auction items, others jumped on the dance floor while "Love Shack" bumped in the background.
