The Louisville Women's Basketball team played against Missouri State last night in the KFC Yum! Center. The Cards took off to an early lead and never stopped. Louisville's Shoni Schimmel scored three shots from beyond the arc in a row in the first half, and ended the game with 14 points.

Early in the first half, starting guard Antonita Slaughter was substituted out and shortly after, collapsed on the bench. Players were visibly shaken up as Slaughter was taken off the court on a stretcher and escorted to the hospital. Shortly after Slaughter was taken off the court, the game resumed and Louisville played even harder.

Coach Walz utilized the depth of his bench last night. Every player, with the exception of Slaughter, played at least ten minutes, many of them playing for over 20.

While Shoni led the team in scoring, Shawnta' Dyer was on fire last night with the rebounds. Dyer played for 17 minutes, and got 8 boards.

The team plays again Saturday night, after the men's game at the Yum Center.

    About Adam Creech

I am a local photographer with a love for sports and music. Sometimes, I even like both at the same time. I absolutely love the University of Louisville, and for the past year and a half, I have been interning with the Social Media Department as a photographer. I love it. Other things I love: Manual transmissions, Coca Cola, Taylor Swift, pineapples, Instagram, Zucchini bread, fluffy dogs, and acoustic guitars.
