The KFC Yum! Center is the new centerpiece of Louisville’s downtown, but six months after its opening, what are the effects? This coming Friday, April 22, Jim Host, chairman of the Louisville Arena Authority Inc., will talk about how the new arena is transforming Louisville and its communities.
The 11:30 luncheon presentation, “Creating a Community Asset: The Past, Present and Future of the KFC Yum! Center,” is part of a daylong program that focuses on the business side of sports. Prior to Host’s luncheon address, there will be two panel discussions, “Cutting-Edge Business Practices in College Athletics: Dynamic Ticket Sales Programs” at 9:15 a.m. and “Developing and Leveraging Sponsorship Relationships in a Challenging Economy” at 10:30 a.m.
The events will take place at the PNC Club, Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium. Attendance fees for the day are $10 for students and $20 for the general public, and include lunch and a continental breakfast. Space is limited and access will be granted on a first come, first served basis. To view the full day agenda, see www.spadclassic.com/Speakers. The event is organized by UofL’s Sport Administration program in collaboration with UofL Athletics.
