If you ever liked The Grateful Dead, and not necessarily in the burned out stoner on the corner sort of way, but even if it was just in a marginal appreciation of musical proficiency from the periphery sort of way; then you
kinda
have to like Rat Dog, as well.
Sprouting from a partnership between Bob Weir (the other singer for The Grateful Dead) and bassist Rob
Wasserman, which dates back to the Regan administration; Rat Dog is a dazzling live show. Every
setlist
is packed with improvisation, solos, Grateful Dead songs, and covers versions of the classics.
Weir is literally classic rock royalty considering his tenure with The Grateful Dead lasted every bit of three decades, he was inducted into the Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame, and has literally jammed on-stage with everyone from Bob Dylan to Wilco. For nothing else show-up tomorrow to bow at his feet.
Tickets are still available, the show is tomorrow March 12th at The Palace Theater (625 S. 4th Street).
