Joseph Frase, proprietor of The Blind Pig, announced on the restaurant's facebook page that "the Blind Pig will be closing Saturday, October 19. Due to a legal dispute with our new landlord. I know this will bring great joy to certain people, but what does it say about you who revel in the shattered lifelong dream of someone who has put everything thing he had into making his dream a reality?".

WDRB reports that The Blind Pig owed more than $37,000 in back rent,  fees, and insurance. A Jefferson County Court issued the eviction order, despite the claims of The Blind Pig's attorney that The Blind Pig's landlord refused to accept rent checks.

According to EaterLouisville, the landlord of The Blind Pig is "SP Holdings, headed by Meat owner Payton Ray". Payton Ray is the owner of the (hopefully temporarily closed) bar Meat, which was housed above The Blind Pig. Meat was closed in April, reportedly due to disputes regarding the liquor license Meat and The Blind Pig shared. Payton Ray later purchased the entire building.

According to the Courier Journal, Frase (the owner of The Blind Pig) is "not sure what's going to happen now". The Blind Pig is still active on their twitter feed and facebook page.
