    Bit to Do

    Blackacre Butterfly Release this weekend

The butterfly is a symbol of renewal, youth and, subsequently, summer.

But more importantly, butterflies are beautiful.

This Saturday, July 20th, Blackacre Nature Conservancy presents their first annual Butterfly Release at 2:00 p.m. in their Community Gardens near the main entrance.

There will be an informative educational program and then everyone will be able to hold a sleeping Painted Lady butterfly or a Monarch butterfly as they wake up and then fly away.

    Yes, hold a butterfly.

However, there are a limited number of butterflies available so you need to R.S.V.P. to reserve yours.

Admission is $5 for member- individual and $10 for member- families. Not a member? You’re still invited, with admission at $8 for non-member individual and $15 for non-member families.

Admission includes light refreshments, a face painter and information on growing your own butterfly garden.

So, bring your family, bring your friends and absolutely bring your camera.

(If it rains on Saturday, the release will be on Sunday, July 21.)

For more information or to R.S.V.P., call 502-266-9802 or visit Blackacre Nature Conservancy .
