The malls may have plenty under one roof, but who wants to fight that crowd to get to every store? Skip the malls for deals at the big box stores, keep it local with area boutiques, or skip it all and go online.

The big box stores such as Target, Walmart, Best Buy, Lowes, Kohls, and Meijer are always a major draw for Black Friday shoppers looking for deals and they are a fantastic way to get away from the cramped quarters of the malls. Here’s a look at the times these retailers open for the Black Friday deals and links to preview the deals.

Target – Open Thanksgiving night 8 p.m. through Friday at 11 p.m. Preview the Black Friday ad.

    Walmart.PNG

Walmart – Open Thanksgiving night 6 p.m. In stock guarantee on several items, which means that as long as you get there within an hour of the sale start, you’re guaranteed to get the item by Christmas. If the item sells out within an hour of the sale, you’ll be given a “Guarantee Card” to ensure the item ships to your store before Christmas. Preview the Black Friday ad.

    Best Buy.PNG

Best Buy – Open Thanksgiving night 6 p.m. Tickets will be handed out two hours earlier, but we already know people have been camped outside the door since Monday. Preview the Black Friday ad.

    Lowes.PNG

Lowes – Open Friday at 5 a.m. Preview the Black Friday ad.

    Kohls.PNG

Kohls – Deals online now through 3 p.m. (CST) Friday. Stores open at 8 p.m. Thanksgiving night. Plus, $15 Kohls cash for every $50 spent. Preview the Black Friday ad.

    Meijer.PNG

Meijer– Deals start at 6 a.m. Thanksgiving Day. Preview the Thanksgiving Day ad.  Black Friday deals start at 6 a.m. Friday. Preview the Black Friday ad. Meijer also has special deals on Saturday and “make your own sale” coupons. Preview the deal and get the coupons.

For additional local deals, Christine Fellingham of the Courier-Journal’s Her Scene, put together a nice list of local boutiques offering big savings this weekend.

If you want to avoid going out and prefer to do your shopping quickly and conveniently in the comfort of your warm jammies and cozy socks, forget the stores and shop online. Most of the big box retailers and mall shops are offering the same great deals and free shipping when you shop online. You can also find deals for retailers outside your area code. You can also find online codes for additional discounts with a quick online search. For a variety of stores and Black Friday ad previews, check out BlackFriday.com.
