Industry leaders will offer expert advice to aspiring actors interested in breaking into show business on Saturday, January 24th at an all-day seminar: THE BIZ OF SHOW BUSINESS: How to Break into Commercials and Booking the Job.  The seminar, presented by Louisville Film Arts Institute and Hollywood Breakdown Services with Heyman Talent Agency, will be held at the Galt House Hotel East, 141 N. 4th Street from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.  Conrad Bachman, a 50 year acting veteran and co-founder of the Louisville Film Arts Institute, will serve as host and moderator.

Joining Bachman as keynote speakers will be Gary Marsh, President and Creator of Breakdown Services/Actors Access – the leading industry source for casting directors, agents and actors, and Producer Todd Needham, whose reality-based shows include Bravo’s multi-award winning Project Runway with Heidi Klum and Tim Gunn.  Also joining Marsh and Needham on a panel discussion will be Talent Agent Kathy Campbell, director of the Louisville Heyman Talent Agency, the largest talent agency in the tri-state region with offices in Louisville, Cincinnati and Columbus; television and film actor Chad Brosky, who has worked for Disney, ABC, NBC, and MGM; and entertainment attorney Brett C. Bachmann, who has over six years experience working and negotiating with many of the most powerful players in the entertainment industry.

Conrad Bachmann is bringing the seminar to Louisville because, “As an actor with over 50 years experience, I know how overwhelming it can be to navigate the entertainment industry.  These experts will provide the tools and tips actors need to give them an edge to break into the business.”

Cost of the all-day seminar is $165 in advance, $175 day of program.  Registration can be made at http://www.breakdownservices.com/store/seminar.html by credit card.  All proceeds from THE BIZ OF SHOW BUSINESS seminar will benefit LFAI and Louisville’s International Festival of Films to be held October 1 – 4, 2009.

According to Bachmann, “I am indebted to each of our industry experts who are donating their time and to our host and partner hotel, The Galt House.  Their generosity makes possible bringing this exciting seminar to Louisville and to furthering LFAI’s launch of Louisville’s International Festival of Films.”
