Remember that Kentucky Derby Museum Legends Series with Bill Samuels, Jr. that you missed?  Remember that Kentucky Bourbon Affair event with Bill Samuels, Jr. you also missed?  Remember how meeting Bill Samuels, Jr., son of Maker’s Mark founders Bill and Marjorie Samuels is pretty high up on your bourbon bucket list?  Well, good news - you’ll have another opportunity to meet him soon.

We’re very fortunate in Louisville to live in such close proximity to bourbon production.  Not only do we get the best of the best bourbon before anyone else, we also get to rub elbows with industry legends just about any time we want.

Down One Bourbon Bar has made great strides in the short time it has been open.  Their newest program, the “Storyteller Series Dinner,” gives dinner guests a chance to hear stories from various bourbon legends.  This month’s guest is Bill Samuels, Jr., who is quite the amusing storyteller.

According to Down One, “on Thursday, June 18th, at 7 p.m., guests will be able to meet Samuels, ask questions and hear stories from the past.  Attendees will enjoy a delicious seafood boil which includes, wild gulf shrimp, Louisiana crayfish, andouille sausage, red skin potatoes and onions with New Orleans style boil spices. Accompanying the seafood boil is creamed corn, biscuits, petit pois la Francaise and a cheese cake with mixed berries.  The three featured cocktails are Lost Thyme, Make Me a Maker’s Flight and a Jittery Julep. These drinks will feature Maker’s Mark, Maker’s 46 and Maker’s Cask.”

Tickets are 65 dollars per person, and tax and gratuity are not included in that price. Call 502-566-3259 for reservations.  Seats are likely to fill up early.
