Patrick Brady, a recent Bellarmine grad, is one of 17 players drafted by the Seattle Mariners.

Utility player Brady, a Lexington native, holds campus all-time records in hits, RBIs and home runs. He hit .379 during his last season at Bellarmine, including 13 homers and 56 RBIs. His .694 slugging percentage, combined with his speed—he bagged 27 stolen bases, leading the team in yet another area—made Brady an appealing pick for the majors.

Brady, a Communications major who wore number 15 at Bellarmine, also was a two-time Daktronics, Inc. All America selection and played for the New England Collegiate Baseball League’s All-Star team in 2009. He was chosen in the 48th round.
