With a guest list of a who's who of celebrities, the Barnstable-Brown was the premier party for Derby weekend.
CBS news journalist Bob Schieffer was the first to arrive at the red carpet ceremony. He was soon followed by John Wall and a few of his close friends, all dressed in tuxedos for the party. Olympians Johnny Weir and Bode Miller were just two of the famous athletes at the Gala, as professional sports stars Tom Brady and Barry Bonds also made an appearance.
One by one, the celebrities lined up to enter the Highlands home of the Barnstable Brown twins. Included guests were Diane Lane from the movie Secretariat, former college basketball stars Mike Dunleavey, Shane Battier, Ramel Bradley, Patrick Patterson.
Three of the members of the Jackson Five were also on hand as Tito, Marlon and Jackie Jackson attended their first ever Barnstable Brown Gala. Smokey Robinson, Travis Tritt and Salt-n-Pepa helped represent the musicians in attendance. Some of the loudest cheers from the crowd of autograph seekers came for Kentucky Derby veteran attendees Nick Lachey & Joey Fatone.
Once inside, guests were treated to stage performances by Salt-N-Pepa and John Michael Montgomery. The crowd was also entertained by bringing UK basketball team members John Wall and Patrick Patterson as well as coach John Calipari.
No one was disappointed as once again, this Gala proved to be the highlight of the Kentucky Derby parties!
