B Barre Shake to a New You!
    Print this page

While this may be more of a fitness article, it seems to me that B Barre and places like it have had an overwhelmingly positive response to people in the Louisville area. 2013, a new year, new beginning. However, it's 10 days in, and most of us have already broken our resolutions. The number one resolutions tend to be: lose weight, get into shape, eat healthier etc. But who has time to spend hours at a gym? Most of us are lucky to even get home early enough to take the dog for a walk. And so, another new year with an unfinished resolution. I have to admit I am one of those people, I'm always looking for new ways to change up my routines at the gym, and I have finally found something that not only works, but changes how I view exercising.

Studio Owner Stephanie Bristow opened B Barre Fitness, located in the Chenoweth Square, next to Paul's Fruit Market, in September 2012 and has Louisvillians shaking to change. But what is B Barre exactly? The BarreAmped classes fuse techniques from modern and classical dance, Pilates, yoga, and deep orthopedic stretching. "This is not a dance class, though a ballet barre is utilized to achieve optimal positioning. BarreAmped uses a mind-body connection that focuses on deep conditioning within the muscles while incorporating small rhythmic and isometric movements to AMP results! This precision-oriented technique sculpts arms, lifts seats, shapes & defines thighs, and flattens abs."

After my first class, I was hooked. I immediately bought 10 classes and regularly attend. While you might think the classes seem expensive, they are worth it, but if you're watching your money they often offer groupon deals as well as packages that are very affordable. First time class

is always free for local first time clients you simply need the promo code when signing up.

Why not give it a try?

Classes fill up very quickly and often have a waiting list. The sooner you sign up, the sooner you can change!
