One of the things I love most about the library is the unique programming they offer day in and day out, week in and week out. The Once Upon a Time: A Storybook Halloween event is no exception, and it's time to mark your calendars for the annual event coming to the Main Library in three weeks. Children and families are invited to this special after-hours party at the Main Library on Friday, October 16 from 6 - 8 p.m.

The night will be full of storytelling and family-friendly activities, and the Library is one of the best organizations around for really putting on a great, interactive party. Additionally, the first 500 families will receive a free copy of the book The Biggest Pumpkin Ever, courtesy of Junior League of Louisville.

Louisville Free Public Library's Main Library will close at its usual time of 5:00 p.m., then re-open at 6:00 p.m. for an enchanting, spectacular evening. It will feature performances by storytellers from StageOne Family Theatre, a Little Loomhouse activity station, interactive opportunities with the Frazier History Museum and the Kentucky Science Center, plus all the games you can play and crafts you can make and more!

Costumes are encouraged and this event is free for children and families. For more information visit LFPL.org/kids or call (502) 574-1620.

The Louisville Free Public Library gives a special thanks to Junior League of Louisville for sponsoring this free event.

The Main Library is located at 301 York Street in downtown Louisville.

Longtime Louisvillian, I am a children's librarian at heart and have a passion for children's lit. I am most recently a stay-at-home mom who is always on the move, searching for family fun in Louisville. If it's free, it's preferable!
