The Frankfort Avenue Business Association (FABA) announced the recipients of the 2008 Good Neighbor and Business of the Year Awards on Saturday, December 6th. The Business of Year Award, presented to a business that is extremely involved in the local community by supporting the programming of the other organizations along Frankfort Avenue, was awarded to Margaret's Consignment. The Good Neighbor Awards, given to individuals and businesses who are recognized for their work to improve the quality of
life in their community, were awarded to Mariposa Place, Sister Dragonfly, Walgreen's, Margaret Browning, John Bell, and Fabulous Finds. The Golden Antlers Award, presented to the Frankfort Avenue business with the best holiday décor, was awarded to Lodge 820. "Margaret Browning involves her business and herself in every worthy cause in this community," says Cindy Adelberg, Executive Director of The Clifton Center. "She has organized the FABA Olde Tyme Christmas celebration for years, created and expanded the United Crescent Hill Ministries Home Tour fundraiser, served on the Taste of Frankfort Avenue Committee and Clifton Center Board, supported the work of St. Joseph's, and
helps numerous charities with her personal and business support. She is an unsung hero, so we were thrilled to present her with not only a Good Neighbor Award, but the Business of the Year Award as well."
