One mistake could come back to haunt a person, especially when seeking public office. An American Daughter opens at Little Colonel Playhouse this weekend.
An American Daughter is to take place on April 12, 13, 14, 20, and 21 at 8 p.m. each night. Matinees, meanwhile, are on April 15 and 22 will go on at 2:30 p.m. each day. All performances are to happen at Little Colonel Playhouse, located at 302 Mount Mercy Drive in Pewee Valley, KY.
Tickets for each show are $15 for adults, $12 for seniors over 60, and $12 for students. The dinner on opening night is an additional $18 per person. Due to limited space, reservations are recommended and can be made by calling 502-588-1557. Tickets can be picked up at the door. Cash and check only are accepted.
An American Daughter showcases how one error, no matter if it happened in public life or before the public knew someone, can impact a person's public and private life. Meet Lyssa Dent Hughes, a daughter of a Republican senator, desendant of Ulysses S. Grant, and facing a nomination for the Surgeon General post. She should be a shoo-in for the position, being that Lyssa is also a health expert.
Then, the media finds out about a small mistake Lyssa made a while back; she once forgot about jury duty. All of a sudden, her personal life and public lives become center stage as everyone around her looks into the mistake. Will she survive the onslaught, or just be a forgotten has-been?
