Allison Springer of the United States, riding Arthur, took the lead in the second day of dressage at the Rolex Kentucky 3-Day Event, presented by Bridgestone, on Friday with a score of 39.8.

William Fox Pitt of Great Britain rode Parklane Hawk to a second place finish with a score of 43.2.

Clark Montgomery of the United States was able to guide Loughan Glen to a third place with a score of 43.2.

Karen O’Connor of the United States is now in fourth place riding Mr. Medicott with a score of 44.2. She had stood in second place on the first day of dressage on Thursday with Veronica, but that horse now stands in ninth place.

Springer has had a bit of a struggle with Arthur who tended to spook. However, they won their last start prior to Rolex so things may be looking up for them.

The Rolex Kentucky Cross Country phase starts today at 9:00 am and continues through 3:30 pm. The group Exile performs a free concert today from 3:30pm to 5:30pm for those holding tickets to today’s Rolex Kentucky 3-Day Cross Country phase or The Ariat Kentucky Reining Cup Freestyle Championships.

Tomorrow the show jumping phase of the Rolex Kentucky 3-Day Event begins at 12:30 pm and continues through 2:45 pm.
