    Bit to Do

    Print this page

Here it goes, short and sweet:

A Christmas Story: Actor's Theatre - Now through Nov. 28 - Ralphie Parker and company return after a sold-out run in '09. Re-live the quest for the Red Ryder BB Gun, frozen tongue and leg lamp that helped to make A Christmas Story and American classic.

Artist Market: 21C Museum Hotel - Nov. 26 - Skip-out on the corporate madness of Black Friday and scoot on over to the third annual Artist Market at the always interesting 21C. Local art and sustainable wares created by local artists will be on display and for sale.

Kalightascope: The Galt House- Now through Jan. 3 - As I've previously written about, six miles of colored and patterned fabrics and four miles of rope and internal lighting are being used to create the first US appearance of KaLighascope, which includes a walk-through Christmas luminary experience. Some of the luminaries are 17-feet-tall.

UofL vs. Marshall: Yum Center - Nov. 27 - The Cards take on the Thundering Herd in men's basketball Saturday and would be a good time to show off the new stadium.

Peace Postcard Exhibit: The Ali Center - Now through Dec. 31 - Local attorney, peace activist and folk art collector, Allan Weiss, along with the help of Interfaith Paths to Peace have distributed thousands of postcards throughout the world and have asked people to draw their visions of peace on the back. People responded and they're currently on display.

Thanksgiving Dinner: Proof on Main - Nov. 25 - If you feel the need to abandon the kitchen this year and Chinese food isn't your thing, consider having your thanksgiving dinner at Proof. Chef Paley has worked up a special menu including all the Thanksgiving classics. Food is served from 2 pm - 8 pm. Make your reservations now.

Blow Your Own Ornament: Glassworks - Now through Dec. - For $40 you can create a create your own ornament, one-on-one with one of Glassowork's professional blowers. Make your appointment

Rich Guzzi's Psycho Hypnosis Show: Improv - Nov 24, 26, 27, 28 - One part stand-up comedy, one-part hypnosis show and one-part self-help seminar, Rich Guzzi's show makes for an interested evening at Improv. Don't be surprised if you're called up on stage at any point.

Big Rock Show: Stevie Ray's - Nov. 25 - Dance the night away on Thanksgiving night with Louisville's favorite classic rock cover band. Since David Ernspiker's death more than a year ago, the rest of the guys keep on keepin' on and this Thanksgiving show has the makings to be a good one.
