1. As the snow melts and the birds start to chirp, Louisvillians start to pace in anticipation for March Madness. The NCAA tournament will be announced Sunday March 16th. Start the countdown to madness and bracket-ology. The tournament kicks off 27 days from now. With the championship game slated for April 17th, the impending madness of every Louisvillian looms like a cloud over River City.
2. With the nearing of March and it means in the hearts of Louisvillians, ESPN’s resident bracketologist, Joe Lundardi, grabbed the attention of the bluegrass state, where basketball rules, and not just on the court. Lunardi predicts the next meeting of the bluegrass will go down with both the Cards and Cats in the Midwest Region (Indianapolis) as Lunardi predicts.
3. While the snow and polar weather postponed the Louisville men’s basketball game at Rutgers, the Cardinals sailed to a victory, ending the game with 102-54. Now the Cards look ahead to the matchup against Cincinnati on Saturday. Let’s hope the Cards soar through the battle, and the Cardinal coaches and players can continue growing their beards until they look like Uncle Si.

4. The Memphis Tigers fell to the Cardinal women’s basketball team 82-66 on Sunday. With Emmonnie Henderson achieving her career best 19-points, the Cardinals grow with each matchup, and leave fans thirsty for what’s next.
5. Thibodeaux signs on the bottom line for Louisville. Tae Thibodeaux, a Westgate High senior defensive lineman, said, “I did my homework, (The Cardinals) got the d-coordinator from Georgia. They run a 3-4 (defense). He puts people in the league (NFL) every year. People can say what they want about Petrino being an offensive guy, but their d-coordinator puts people in the league in the first round every year. They were ranked top 20 in total defense at Georgia.”
