Halloween is right around the corner; here are five local options around Louisville/Southern Indiana to get a cute costume for your trick-or-treater.
1. The Parent Teacher Store and Toys Too
This store located at 10211 Westport Road is a great option for Halloween accessories and dress-up items. Recently, they were selling Frozen attire such as Anna and Elsa dresses; not sure what their stock is like now but call and ask! 502-425-8770
2. Kid Stuff Sale in Southern Indiana
You will find so many Halloween costumes in EUC (excellent used condition) at the Southern Indiana Kid Stuff Sale which is this week, October 23-25. This sale has been ongoing for 16 years providing families deals and bargains for children's items they need. It has been in its location at the National Guard Armory in New Albany since the beginning. It's located at 2909 Grant Line Road , New Albany, IN 47150. The sale dates and hours are: Thursday, October 23rd 5pm-9pm; Friday, October 24th 9am – 7pm; Saturday, October 25th 9am – 7pm* * Discount Day
I was recently in this store at the Oxmoor Mall and noticed their Melissa and Doug line of children’s dress-up/play clothes were on sale for 20% discount. It’s worth checking into, as they had a pirate, doctor, pilot, backyard explorer, and several different girls’ fancier princess themes. They are located at 7900 Shelbyville Road; 502-329-5703
This consignment store located in Middletown (12340 Shelbyville Road) confirmed via their Facebook page today that they do have children’s Halloween costumes. Getting costumes second hand is always a plus for me, for tons of savings and lots of different ideas. Usually, these items have only been worn once and are much cheaper than buying something new at a big box store.
Not certain that they have Halloween costumes, but they are a toy store with a local twist so it wouldn’t hurt to call and ask. They have a store in St. Matthews, located at 4209 Shelbyville Road (502-895-6152) and in the Westport Village Shopping Center, located at 1215 Herr Lane (502-690-7408).
