It’s grown larger and larger each year since its inception, and this year will be no different as the Highlands celebrate the 16th Annual Belknap Fall Festival, held annually during the second weekend in October.  This year’s event runs October 8th from 6-9 pm and – October 9th from 11am-9pm.

This year’s festival will include regular favorites such as juried arts and crafts, live music and entertainment, family fun, education and food and drinks.  In addition to the more than 100 featured exhibitors and family activities, the Festival will feature 7 live performances from musical acts including Tenrec, Vessel and The Commonwealth.

Also included for 2010 is the Kentucky Strength and Endurance Challenge.  According to Chris Padgett of Highlands Week, the Challenge is “Open to men and women, the event consists of five rounds of physical challenges including tests such as the tire flip, an agility obstacle course and vehicle push.  Men and women of all ages and weight classes are encouraged to participate.”

The festival is held in the Douglass Loop area off of Bardstown Road, including the streets of Dundee, Harvard & Yale Drives.  Admission is free to this official Louisville Metrofest event, so make plans to attend this neighborhood favorite celebration!
