The concept isn't new. In fact, the Lambert and Lindsey morning show, heard weekday mornings on "102.3 The Max" has been doing the same thing for seven years.

On November 19-20th, Linda Lambert and George Lindsey (along with faithful cohort Aaron Miller), went on the air for twenty four hours, broadcasting from Westport Village and taking requests for $25 or more from listeners who wanted to hear their favorite song on the station.

Couple those requests with a cool $31,000 from Commonwealth Bank and Trust, the title sponsor of the event, and $24,000 from Panera Bread, and the fundraiser was able to hit its goal.

“This year’s fundraiser will enable us to grant 25 wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions right here in Kentucky and southern Indiana,” said Make-A-Wish-Foundation Executive Director Dan Koett. “I am deeply grateful to our friends at 102.3 The Max--George Lindsey, Lynda Lambert and Aaron Miller whose passion for our mission enabled us to achieve our ambitious fundraising goal.”

Over the history of the event, the radio station team has helped to raise over $900,000.
