Todd Frazier’s one-out, two-run home run in the top of the seventh inning propelled the Louisville Bats to a 2-1 win over host Durham in the Governors’ Cup semifinals at Durham Bulls Athletic Park. Louisville leads the best-of-five series 2-1 and can clinch a spot in the Governors’ Cup championship series with a victory at 7:05 p.m. Saturday or 5:05 p.m. Sunday.
The Louisville Bats won a game, beating the Indianapolis Indians 6-3 at Louisville Slugger Field, and also won their third straight International League West title Monday afternoon thanks to Toledo’s 5-2 win over Columbus on the final day of the IL regular season. The Bats lead Syracuse by three games in the IL wildcard standings and can clinch a playoff spot with a Saturday victory, or a loss by the Chiefs. Michael Griffin, left, went 4-for-5 with four RBIs and four runs scored to lead Louisville at the plate.

The loss dropped Louisville 1 1/2 games behind Columbus, which beat Toledo on Thursday, in the International League West with four games to play. The Bats, however, do lead Syracuse by three games in the IL wildcard race.

The victory kept Louisville a half-game behind Columbus in the International League West, but gave them a four game lead over Syracuse in the IL wildcard race with five games to play.
