The Wildcats came out fighting in the SEC opener against South Carolina
No. 2 Kentucky will host South Carolina this afternoon as the Cats begin Conference play with Kidd-Gilchrist as the SEC Player of the Week and Anthony Davis as the SEC Freshman of the Week.
Saturday’s “W” over Louisville certainly gives Kentucky supporters new found confidences in the freshman stand outs Michael Kidd-Gilchrist and Anthony Davis. Coach Cal and the Wildcats will roll into Louisville off an ugly, but meaningful win against Louisville and call Freedom Hall home for a night as the University of Arkansas at Little Rock Trojans come out to play.
There are two things that fans for both Louisville and Kentucky will remember about today’s game; one being Kentucky won and the other, the unnecessary number of fouls called. With a total of 52 fouls; 29 for the Cardinals and 23 for the Cats, it is amazing only two players fouled out of the game.

Last night’s basketball games in Kentucky proved troublesome for Cardinal fans; the Cardinals of Lamar and Louisville went down hard.
Two games in one week, both at home; UK takes the opportunity to capitalize on the home court advantage against Loyola as fans just want it over already so the Cats can play Louisville come New Year’s Eve.
