Bellarmine University marks Black History Month with free lecture
In conjunction with Black History Month, local historian and former Filson staffer, Peg Bogert, will explore the history of slavery in Kentucky this Thursday, February 16th at 12pm at The Filson Historical Society.

Merton Center marks Black History Month
Thomas Merton, the famed Trappist monk and poet who in engaged different faiths and cultures in peaceful dialogue amidst the tumultuous climate of the 1960s race riots and Vietnam War, is the subject of the fourth annual Thomas Merton Black History Month Lecture on Monday, February 22, at Bellarmine University’s Frazier Hall.
In observance of Black History Month, the Kentucky Opera will perform a free program on Saturday, February 6 at 3:00 P.M. at Bellarmine University.
