    Block Party & Movie

    Kentucky author, Melissa Newman, to speak at Carmichael's Bookstore

    Carmichael's will host Kentucky author, Melissa Newman, for her books House of Cleaving and Sister Blackberry. Newman is an award-winning journalist and writer who credits her writing talent to a large southern family who reveled in storytelling. Her first novel, Sister Blackberry, deals with the strength of women and the secrets they keep, while her latest novel, House of Cleaving, explores the strange and seemingly unending mystery surrounding Annie Cleaving's recently deceased family.

    Sublime with Rome
