BBC Freedom Hop Historic Frankfort Avenue and the Bluegrass Brewing Company and Tap Room will celebrate 4th of July by hosting a special F.A.T. Friday “BBC Freedom Hop” on Friday, June 24th from 6:00pm to 10:30pm. The evening will include BBC drink specials at various restaurants, drawings for BBC prizes and giveaways, and BBC samplings. More than 30 participating businesses along the Frankfort, Mellwood and Story Avenue corridor will be embellished with balloons, garland and miniature American flags, and trolley hoppers will enjoy FREE parking and FREE trolley transportation. June 24, 6–10:30 p.m. Louisville Experimental Music Festival @ Derby City Espresso The first music festival of it’s kind to happen in Louisville, LEF will showcase twenty-five musicians and bands from Louisville and other cities including Lexington, Kentucky, Cincinnati, Ohio, Indianapolis, Indiana, Minneapolis, Minnesota, etc. June 24-25, 8:30 p.m. Picnic n Fun by the Water Grab your friends and family and pack a picnic lunch, and join us to celebrate Louisville’s Beargrass Creek! Fun, educational water-related activities for everyone! June 25, 10 a.m.–1 p.m. Audubon Park Garden Tour The Audubon Park Garden Club was founded in 1929 to promote the beauty of the surrounding area, including the easements and small parks, and to encourage gardening among its members. During the annual “Festival of the Dogwood” in April, the residents illuminate their yards and common areas. In 2002, the Club began holding garden tours to show the more private side of Audubon Park. Gardens range from formal to intimate, shade to sun, large to small, but all reflect the personal gardening tastes of the owners. Since all the gardens on the tour are within Audubon Park, many patrons choose to walk the approximately two-mile route. June 25, 10 a.m–4 p.m. The Bard's Town Presents: 'BlackListed Comedy' The edgy, live stand-up comedy series returns to The Bard's Town on Saturday night, June 25th at 9pm with the funniest line-up yet of local comedic talents! For the first time, as well, the show will be held upstairs in the newly-built Bard's Theater. From Cynthiana, Ky, a veteran of "The Hard Times Comedy Tour" and a runner-up twice-over in the Funniest Person in Lexington Competition, Matt Linville Features, with special guest, up-n-comer and host of Starbase Q's "Laugh Out Proud" shows, Jacob Mudd, and the Headliner has been seen on local television, particularly during the Halloween season as the heavily made-up spokesperson for "The Devil's Attic", and is also returning to "BlackListed" for his second go-round, Todd Merriman!! June 25, 9 p.m. 19th Annual Taste of Frankfort Avenue The Clifton Center, located at 2117 Payne Street, will present the 19th Annual Taste of Frankfort Avenue on Sunday, June 26 from 5pm to 8pm. This year’s event will include cuisine from over 30of the Avenue’s signature restaurants, auction packages, a bourbon lounge, and a full concert by the Grammy-winning Austin-based Latin funk orchestra - Grupo Fantasma.
