42nd Annual Street Rod Nationals Plus

This year's 42nd annual Street Rod Nationals Plus will take place on August 4-7, 2011 at the Kentucky Expo Center.

More than 11,000 street rods and 30,000 visitors return to Louisville for the largest street rod event in the world, the Street Rod Nationals Plus. Along with enjoying thousands of automobiles made before 1949, attendees can participate in the numerous swap meets, the commercial area, Women’s World and activities for children. The National Street Rod Association will also include vehicles from the 1950s, 60s and 70s at this annual event.

Although everyone will enjoy the spectacular vehicles there are other activities the family will enjoy such as concerts, Commercial Exhibitors, Swap Meet and Women’s World (arts and crafts with items that will interest women as well as men and children) as well as children’s games.

    Film Screening of America Quilts

America Quilts celebrates the artists, the quilts and the powerful stories woven into them. This program examines quilts from three perspectives—as historical records, symbols of family and community, and works of art. Quilts cross the barriers of class, age, and ethnicity. They are tangible, tactile records of life in America. Every quilt has its story, reflecting the personality and passion of its maker. Each day the stories continue—a quilt is completed, another is begun and a centuries-old tradition continues. Included with Museum general admission.
