    various players from Europe and of course some excellent choices from

    the Junior League, whose members will present prepared food items from
    their cookbook, Splendor in the Bluegrass. For this tasting, Westport

    Milwaukee's
    Waltzing Matilda, renowned for her work as One Beer Prophet and for her
    legendary storytelling ability and San Francisco's Cindy Emch,
    published poet and accordion player for Vagabondage and Rhubarb
    Whiskey, are teaming up for the Hobo Love Tour. Conceived as an
    accordion poetry sideshow, that brings together the glitter and the
    gutter, these two tattooed ladies will be telling stories, singing
    songs and performing antics that must be seen to be believed.

    Emchy and Waltzing Matilda will be feeding their love of coffee and
    showmanship at the one and only Ray's Monkey House. The home of the
    finest coffee in Louisville and some truly revolutionary events - Hobo
    Love is looking forward to sharing the poems, stories and songs of the
    road with their fellow freaks.

    This year's BARK IN THE PARK will cater to both four-legged and two-legged family members.

    Contests with great prizes will take place all day, including the
    Canine Idol Talent Contest and Halloween Canine Costume contest (owners
    are encouraged to dress up, too!). Or if your pet is the athletic type,
    let them show off their skills in the Agility Course. Other activities
    will include Pet CPR/First Aid Training, Frisbee demonstrations, K-9
    Police Dog Unit demonstration, Obedience/Training classes, and Metro
    Animal Services' Mobile SPOT Unit. Veterinarians from Pewee Valley
    Veterinary Center will be microchipping for a fee of $30 from 9:30AM -
    1:30PM.

    And all the fun won't be just for your furry friends - for a minimal
    cost, children can get their faces painted, make fun crafts, choose a
    prize from the Duck Pond, or compete in our Kibble Throw.

    Pet-themed booths will be on site with merchandise and information,
    and chances will be sold to win great prizes through ACS's Raffle.
    Names will be drawn all day. You can also bid on a number of great
    gifts that will be offered in our Silent Auction. Yummy treats will be
    available for pets and their people.

    The Kentucky
    Derby Festival and WDRB team up to produce the
    sixth annual “Thunder into Louisville Poker Run” – a motorcycle rally
    to raise funds for the 2009 Thunder Over
    Louisville, the Derby Festival’s Opening Ceremonies. The motorcycle
    “Poker Run,” which will include several stops, will begin at 10 a.m. at
    the Bluegrass Harley-Davidson dealership at I-64 and Blankenbaker
    Parkway (11701 Gateworth Way) and end at FOX DEN at City Block.

    Nearly 700 entrants (riders and passengers combined) participated in
    the 2007 fall Poker Run. The event raised more than $10,000 for the
    2008 Derby Festival Opening Ceremonies.
