    Description:

    Guests of the Brain Ball will be enchanted with a sparkling ice castle,
    silent auction, dinner and presentation of the Mary Varga award and a
    posthumous award in honor of WHAS11 reporter, Chuck Olmstead

    Chairing the Ball this year are Michael and Katie Kitchen.

    The Mary Varga award will be presented this year to Cynthia Masters
    of DBS Interactive. The Mary Varga award is presented each year to a
    brain injury survivor who exemplifies perseverance and courage. The
    award was created in 2003 to recognize Mary Varga for her valiant
    effort to overcome the obstacles of a brain injury she sustained in an
    automobile injury.

    International Livestock Exposition and brings the top cowboys and
    cowgirls from the Great Lakes Circuit Rodeo Finals together to compete

    Free family
    art workshop held the 2nd Saturday of each month from 10 am-12 pm. At this workshop, they'll be making Thankful Trees using fun
    foam, fabric scraps, ribbon, and markers. We will also be making
    Pinecone Bird Feeders as an "extra" project. **Each child needs to
    bring a tree branch about 1 to 2 ft. in height. Children must be
    accompanied by an adult. Suggested ages 2-12. Pre-registration is
    required and on a first come, first served basis. Please arrive no

    The event will include documentary film screenings,
    performances by Kentucky-based musicians, workshops and presentations
    on film related subjects, and food provided by local area restaurants.
    The evening will conclude with a showing of "ROMP 2007 – The Legends
    Concert”, followed by a Kentucky Homefront concert featuring the
    Stephen Couch duo and the Regional Bluegrass All Stars. John Gage will
    host the concert, which will be taped and aired on public radio
    stations across the region.

    The festival is an all-ages celebration of the very best in Kentucky
    music and film, and several workshops will be geared towards children
    and music beginners. At the door tickets are $5 per film, $15 for a Day
    Time Only Pass (All Films, Music & Workshops from 11:00am -
    5:30pm), and $12 for an Evening Only Pass (Doors open at 7pm - Includes
    evening film and Kentucky Homefront concert. Porch Pal tickets will be
    honored). Advance tickets are $25 for a Full Day Event (Pass includes
    films, workshops and mini performances all day and Homefront Concert at

    Matthew
    Biberman, author of "Big Sid's Vincati: The Story of a Father, a Son,
    and the Motorcycle of a Lifetime" will speak at the University of
    Louisville Chao Auditorium, Ekstrom Library.

    Following his father's heart attack, local author Biberman promises
    his motorcycle mechanic father that they will build a Vincati together.
    They not only succeed in building a legendary motorcycle that features
    them along with Jay Leno, but they also reconstruct their relationship
    along the way.
