    El Dia De Los Muertos (“Day of the Dead”) Festival. See our Tito Puente
    altar, and dance to Latin sounds inspired by Puente. Museum admission

    The Monarchs will also be signing their new book on Friday night.

    Description:

    In partnership with the University of Louisville, LVAA will be hosting the 2009 Art Auction.

    November 6, 2009. 6PM

    100% of the proceeds benefit visual art education in the community
    through the Children's Fine Art Classes program and the Mary Spencer
    Nay Scholarship at U of L.

    Chef Timothy Tucker will be catering the event.

    Tim Laird (Chief Entertainment Officer) from Brown-Forman has
    created a signature drink for the art auction and will on site to
    demonstrate how the drink is made. Over 150 local and regional artists will be exhibited.

    This year LVAA and U of L will also host the first online art
    auction in Louisville! From October 18 - November 3, patrons may bid
    online for artwork prior to the auction event on November 6.

    The 14-day
    event is the world’s largest all-breed, purebred livestock exposition
    showcasing a variety of livestock in competition, sales, shows and
    other special events. More than 23,000 entries are judged in 10 major
    divisions and seven youth judging contests.

    As a soloist
    Ax has demonstrated a particular affinity for the Romantics;
    nonetheless, his repertoire is among the most diverse of any pianist on
    the scene today and ranges from the music of Haydn, Mozart, and
    Beethoven to important twentieth century figures like Tippett, Henze,
    and Hindemith. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and
    Sciences and holds honorary doctorates of music from Yale and Columbia
    Universities. Concerts are held at the University of Louisville School
    of Music, Comstock Hall. Admission is $10 for members, $20 for
    non-members.
